Sapphire Shih tzu is a small Shih Tzu home located in beautiful
Kalispell, Montana, halfway between Glacier National Park and Flathead Lake, the largest freshwater lake west of the
Mississippi.
The first time I saw a Shih Tzu, it was love at first sight, and I still love the breed dearly.
They are the most endearing little dogs who will steal any heart in a moment. To this day, when I walk into a specialty
show and see all the Shih Tzu ready to go into the ring, all looking so stunning, it is still magical for me. I
am very concerned about doing what is best for the breed, so that each Shih Tzu has the opportunity to live a full and happy
life, free from pain of physical abnormality or emotional stress.
I enjoy showing my dogs as an owner/handler in both the United States and Canada, and I believe
that obtaining championship titles helps prove the quality. I maintain a small number of dogs so that they
all get the time and attention they deserve. My personal goal is to breed the best quality I can, for
both structure and temperment. All breedings are planned well in advance and I breed according to the AKC standard
for the Shih Tzu, I am an AKC Breeder of Merit and adhere to the American Shih Tzu club's code of ethics. I am currently
a member of the Canadian Shih Tzu club.
I occasionally have puppies available as show prospects or for pets. My babies are all raised in my house. All pet puppies are sold with a health
guarantee, AKC limited registry and a spay/neuter requirement. I am a certified obedience trainer and offer
a 7 week puppy manners/obedience class for all new owners and their babies, using positive reinforcement methods.
After the classes end, I am approved by AKC to offer the test and qualify your puppy for the Canine Good Citizen certificate.
I do not sell dogs for breeding purposes. If you are outside the area, dogs can be shipped at certain times of
the year, and I will be available by phone to help you with your new babies's manners.
SPECIAL ATTENTION PLEASE
- Please do not purchase a puppy from any source where you cannot
see the parents and the pedigrees
- Do not be taken in by the myth of the Imperial or Tiny Teacup
- Do not be mislead by the misconceptions about "designer dogs"
- Do not be fooled by the term "Champion Lines"
- Ask how does the breeder knows her puppy is "quality", in what ways does it meet
the breed standard
- You get what you pay for...if a puppy is lower priced, ask "why"
I am using a potty training system called The Potty Park, which is guaranteed
to be antimicrobial against odors for 5 years. It is easy to use, the dogs take to it immediately, there is no odor,
and it is the perfect solution to taking dogs out in the cold, wind or wet to go Potty. I am also training my puppies
while still in the nest to use the Potty Park. If you would like to know more, please click the link below.
